Through Confession I
God wants to bless us "exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think according to the power that works in us." (Eph 3:20) Everyone in their right mind wants to be blessed. No one wants to be cursed, however there are many people who are cursing themselves through ignorance, wrong thinking, and wrong speaking. If we are going to let the power of God work in us and through us to bring exceedingly abundant blessings into our lives we're going to have to stop hindering the Lord with our tongues. We need to realize what the Word says, about who we are IN Christ and what we have IN Him. The first step is to understand what we have because of who we are.
I. You Have Powerful Potential
1. You are a New Creation.
II Cor. 5:17 You're born again human spirit has new Life. You have a New Power source. His name is the Holy Spirit. He is infinitely greater than the "energizer bunny". He has an unlimited supply of power to work in you in greater ways than you can imagine. If you need a miracle, He can perform it. If you need provision He can bring it forth. If you need favor He can influence influential people. If you need deliverance he has greater power in his little finger than all the devils in the earth. There is nothing He cannot do. The Greater One works in you.
Jesus said of John the Baptist "Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." Just think, those of us who are in the Kingdom of heaven, in other words those of us who are born again, are greater than John the Baptist because of our born again spirit. Jesus said John the Baptist was greater than any of his predecessors. Wow! John was greater than Moses, Elisha, and all the Old Testament prophets. Yet Jesus said, those of us who have a born again spirit are greater than John the Baptist. Many people are just not living up to their powerful spiritual potential.
2. You are the righteousness of God
II Cor. 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Think about it, there are no spiritual birth defects in your born again spirit. God caused your spirit man to be born again in perfect formation. It may need to be trained to function in the perfect new way it was perfectly designed to function, but it is created perfect.
Heb 12:23 says, "To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect"…
Your born again spirit has the ability to commune with God. It has a renewed and sensitive conscience and it has intuition to pick up on things directly from God without any direct communication with your intellect. Sometimes you just know things in your "knower" your intuition. You just pick up on things in your spirit. You don't know how you know them because they are spiritually discerned rather than intellectually learned.
If you will live in the Spirit and walk in the Spirit and listen to the Holy Spirit speaking to your human spirit, you'll begin to live a supernatural life. You will function and flow in the gifts of the Spirit. You will have the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. You'll see the miracle working power of God in your life.
3. You are an Heir of God. Ro. 8:17
According to the Greek, an heir is not only an inheritor but a possessor or "one who lays hold of." We must rise up in the power and authority of the Spirit and take what God is giving us. We must learn and discern the Lord's battle strategy and then move under the Holy Spirit's direction to lay hold of the promises of God.
Now is the time for the saints to shine. We must rise up and fight for what's is our right as believers. We must fast and pray and speak out and obey the Lord like never before. Let's lay hold of the promises of God. Let's win our cities for Jesus. Let's lay hold of healing, deliverance, and the blessing of heaven now.
Increasing Your Power Through Confession II
Confession in a Biblical sense is speaking in agreement with the Word of God. Jesus is the High Priest of our confession. True confession can only be in agreement with God's Word.
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house
There is not a thought we think that the Lord doesn't know, and there isn't a word we speak that the Lord doesn't hear. Jesus takes the Words we speak in agreement with His Word and presents them to the Father, because He is our Intercessor. "He always lives to make intercession for us (Heb. 7:25)." This is why it's important to speak the Word only regarding any situation we want to see changed to line up with the Word of God. Faith changes facts. Speaking the Word over a situation allows Jesus to intercede to the Father on our behalf and move the Hand of God to change the situation. Only speaking the Word of God by faith can change your situation. Speaking the Word over a situation or circumstance you want changes is not denying the facts its attacking the facts to change them to line up with the Word of God. For instance, if you tape a movie on the VCR and as you are watching it, you discover that it has some objectionable content, then how do you get rid of that movie? You can erase it, or you can tape over it. The easiest way to get rid of it is simply tape a good move over the top of it. This is how you change your thinking. This is how you change your confession. This is how you change your direction in life.
Your confession changes your direction.
Jesus said of John the Baptist that, "Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
In this dispensation God gives us a new spirit. We are a new creation, spiritually II Cor.5:17. Those who have a born again spirit are greater than John the Baptist, and John the Baptist was the greatest prophet to ever live, according to Jesus. We have a greater anointing than John the Baptist. We have greater spiritual potential than all the Prophets of old. We need to rise up and use our born again spirit to pray, confess, stand and believe the Word of God. When we speak the Word by faith we have Power.
Let Jesus be the High Priest of your confession. Don't curse, swear, moan and groan about your situation. You don't want Jesus presenting that before the Father. You don't want that to bear bad fruit.
Speak the Word over your situation and you'll come out victorious in every situation. This means picking out scripture verses and speaking them, praying and confessing them daily.
Have a blessed week.
